Where is Mauritius Beach?
Mauritius Beach is a beach on the North West Cape, Western Australia. It is essentially a section of the much longer Jims Beach, and is next to the Vlamingh Head Lighthouse.
The nearest town to Mauritius Beach is Exmouth, the tourism hub for the Ningaloo Reef. The distance from Exmouth to Mauritius Beach is 21km by car. It’s an 18 minute drive.

Exmouth nude beach
Mauritius Beach has been designated as a clothing-optional beach by the local council. However, you’ll not find signs there explicitly stating that it is Exmouth’s nude beach.
Swimming and snorkelling at Mauritius Beach
Swimming at Mauritius Beach is relatively safe, although there are no lifeguard services. This North West Cape beach offers reasonably good snorkelling, although it is not as spectacular as it is on the beaches further south within the Cape Range National Park.
If you want great Ningaloo Reef beach snorkelling, head for Turquoise Bay or Osprey Bay instead.

The other reason to visit Mauritius Beach, Exmouth, is that it is an important turtle nesting site. If you want to know more about the turtles, why they nest here and the breeding cycle, visit the neighbouring Jurabi Turtle Centre.
