Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm accommodation: Dampier Peninsula glamping

New eco-tents at the Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm have created year-round accommodation on the Dampier Peninsula north of Broome, Western Australia.

The Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm on the Dampier Peninsula north of Broome, Western Australia, is primarily a pearl farm, of course. But it also offers surprisingly impressive accommodation.

It has recently improved its Dampier Peninsula accommodation offering, too, with the introduction of 15 eco tents.

Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm glamping tents

These tents are firmly in the glamping rather than camping category. All have private en-suites, air-conditioning and king-sized beds. It’s the air-conditioning that’s crucial, as stays at Cygnet Bay were previously only possible during the cooler dry season. Now the season can be extended year-round.

The Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm glamping tents are designed to have minimal impact on the surrounding environment, and local businesses were used for the entire production.

Items of furniture were made by Agunya, a not-for-profit organisation in Broome. There are also wheelchair accessible tents available.

Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm accommodation prices

These tents are in the part of the pearl farm that is accessible by conventional vehicle. You don’t need a 4WD to get there. The tents are a sort walk from the pearl farm’s infinity pool and restaurant. The eco-tents at the Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm cost from $330 a night.

There are also unpowered camping and caravan sites at the farm, costing from $45 a night.

The real point of difference, of course, is that you’re on a Pearl Farm. Cygnet Bay also runs a series of tours exploring the farm and the local area.

Dampier Peninsula pearl farm tours

The favourite is the standard pearl farm tour, which shows how pearls are cultivated, for $37. There are also sea safaris, which explore the Kimberley coastline, however.
