Green Patch Beach, Jervis Bay Territory: Camping & walks

In the Jervis Bay Territory’s Booderee National Park, Green Patch is a popular beach and campground for families. You can tackle the Green Patch to Bristol Point Loop Walk while there.

Green Patch Beach in Australia’s Jervis Bay Territory is a family-friendly beach with handy facilities, camping and an enjoyable walking trail.

Snorkelling at Green Patch Beach

Inside the Booderee National Park, this Jervis Bay beach has the white sand that the area is renowned for. However, Green Patch Beach is also a fabulous spot for learning to snorkel. The water is almost always calm, and plenty of fish hang around by the rock platforms. There’s a good chance of seeing squid and octopus here, too.

In fact, the wildlife is one of the major reasons families love Green Patch Beach so much. Wallabies and echidnas hang out here, as do parrots and lorikeets.

Green Patch to Bristol Point Loop Walk

Once you’re bored of swimming at Green Patch Beach, you can attempt the Green Patch to Bristol Point loop walk. As this involves going along some of the rocky shoreline, this is best attempted at low tide.

The Green Patch to Bristol Point loop walk starts at the Green Patch car park, then heads through the day use area and across the bridge onto the beach. There’s another small bridge before the rock platform.

Keep going until you reach the small Bristol Point Beach, then go back onto the rocks and follow the forest path to the Bristol Point picnic area. The return section to Green Patch is through forest where wildlife tends to hang out.
