What is Myall Beach?
Myall Beach is one of the two main beaches in Cape Tribulation, Queensland. The other is Cape Tribulation Beach, a little further north. It can be visited on a day tour from Port Douglas or Cairns.
Where is Myall Beach?
Myall Beach is in the village of Cape Tribulation, which is in the Daintree Rainforest and a popular day trip destination from both Cairns and Port Douglas.
Myall Beach is the beach on the southern side of the Cape Tribulation headland, and is the closest beach to most of the accommodation and bars in the village.

Is it safe to swim at Myall Beach?
Swimming at Myall Beach is not safe. This is partly due to marine stingers, which are especially prevalent between November and April.
The main reason not to swim at Myall Beach, however, is that Cape Tribulation is deep inside crocodile country. There are no lifeguard patrols keeping a look out for crocs, and you never quite know what’s in the water with you.
If you want somewhere safe to swim in Cape Tribulation, go for Mason’s Swimming Hole instead.

Horse-riding on Myall Beach, Cape Tribulation
A popular Cape Tribulation activity is horse-riding along Myall Beach. Cape Trib Horse Rides offers morning tours aimed at beginners and afternoon rides suitable for more experienced riders.
Both include free pick-ups from Cape Tribulation, and cost $145 at the time of writing.
How to get to Myall Beach
There are two access points for Myall Beach. At the northern end, you can walk 350 metres over the headland from the Kulki day use area.
Nearer the heart of the village, there’s another 370 metre track from the Dubuji day use area. You can extend this walk with a stroll through the rainforest and mangroves along the Dubuji Boardwalk.
The drive from Port Douglas to Cape Tribulation is 84km long. The Cairns to Cape Tribulation drive is 142km long.
