Sunshine Beach, Queensland: Surf Club menu, swimming & walk

At the end of the coastal walk through Noosa National Park, Sunshine Beach is a beautiful place for a swim or surf. Try the restaurant at the Sunshine Beach Surf Club for lunch, too.

Sunshine Beach, Queensland, is essentially a suburb of Noosa. It lies east of Noosa Heads, north of Sunrise Beach and south of Noosa National Park.

It’s that last part that will be of most interest to visitors. Sunshine Beach is where you’ll emerge after the 5.4km one way coastal walk around the clifftops and headlands.

Treat Sunshine Beach as a reward at the end of the walk, and you’re doing Noosa about right. It’s a beautiful spot, backed by high, sandy bluffs.

Surfing and swimming at Sunshine Beach, Queensland

Sunshine Beach a wide, open beach, with fuzzy boundaries in the south. Give or take the odd creek mouth, this beach stretches down the Sunshine Coast, becoming Sunrise Beach, Peregian Beach and Coolum Beach. The Sunshine Beach section is roughly 3km long, and is primarily of interest to surfers.

Swimming at Sunshine Beach can be dangerous due to the rips along the shoreline. Therefore, you should only attempt to swim between the red and yellow flags – this is the area patrolled by the Sunshine Beach Surf Club.

Sunshine Beach Surf Club menu

However, the Sunshine Beach Surf Club should be of interest for other reasons. It is one of the best value places to eat in the Noosa area. Slightly set back from the beach, the restaurant is open between 11.30 and 20.00 daily.

The Sunshine Beach Surf Club menu also offers a fair few options beyond the standard range of pub fare. The $35 North African lamb shoulder is particularly tempting, as is the $24 slow cooked brisket and portobello pot pie.
