Swimming on Fraser Island: Champagne Pools

Harder to get to than the other popular swimming spots on Fraser Island, the Champagne Pools are at the northern end of 75 Mile Beach.

If you’re going to make it to the Champagne Pools, you’re going to need to keep a careful eye on the tides. For around two hours either side of high tide, the access is cut off.

If you do get there, however, you’ll find a series of oceanside rock pools, washed over by the ocean swell, creating a fizzing effect. Nobody really does all that much swimming here. It’s more about hanging out in a natural plunge pool.

Again, you need to pick a longer Fraser Island tour if you’re going to visit Champagne Pools. The Pippies three day, two night trip from Rainbow Beach does make it there, however.

And last but not least… Eli Creek.
