Even if the lake isn’t pink when you visit, the mirror-esque reflections in the water make for great salt lake photography.

The nearest Lake Tyrrell accommodation is in the town of Sea Lake, just to the south of the lake.

Bendigo to Mildura road trip attractions

Further along the Bendigo to Mildura drive are more pink lakes in the Murray Sunset National Park. The access roads to Victoria’s biggest national park are near the workaday town of Ouyen. You’ll also find bounding red kangaroos in the Murray Sunset National Park.

There’s more wildlife to the east in the Hattah-Kulkyne National Park. You’ll find grey kangaroos, emus and plenty more among the complex system of lakes.

The Ouyen to Mildura drive takes just over an hour. Near Mildura, you can divert to the Red Cliffs lookout on the banks of the Murray River.
