Brisbane to Goondiwindi road trip: Gore Highway attractions

The Toowoomba to Goondiwindi leg of the Brisbane to Goondiwindi drive is fairly uneventful. It’s almost entirely along the Gore Highway through the Darling Downs region.

Pittsbrook and Millmerran are the first two reasonably sized towns, and Millmerran has more to offer. If you’ve got some spare time, check out the views from the Commodore Peak Lookout and amble around the historic mural trail.

Before the Gore Highway joins the Leichhardt Highway, there’s are a few options for a leg-stretch. First is the Domville State Forest near Captains Mountain. Then come the Western Creek State Forest to the north of the Gore Highway, plus the Bulli State Forest or Wondul Range National Park to the south.

Once in Goondiwindi, attractions include the cotton farm tours, the Customs House Museum and Goondiwindi Art and Sculpture Trail.
