Margaret River to Bridgetown road trip: Margaret River to Nannup

The quickest route from Margaret River to Bridgetown leaves Margaret River to the west along Rosa Brook Road. On the way, you’ll pass Stella Bella Wines and 10 Mile Brook Dam. The latter is a pleasant spot for a walk, but you can’t swim in the lake.

There’s another potential cellar door wine-tasting stop at Brown Hill Estate or Rosabrook Wines, but shortly afterwards, you’ll enter the forests.

As Rosa Brook Road becomes Mowen Road, the Margaret River to Bridgetown drive enters the Rapids Conservation Park then the Blackwood State Forest.

Before reaching the town of Nannup, there are a couple of potential swimming spots at Workmans Pool and Barrabup Pool in the St John Brook Conservation Park.

Margaret River to Bridgetown drive: Nannup to Bridgetown

Once you reach Nannup, you can stroll in the Kondil Wildflower Park – which is particularly colourful in the spring months. Alternatively, take in the views from the Tank 7 Lookout or hit the trails of the Nannup Mountain Bike Park.

In Nannup, you’ll join the Brockman Highway and continue west through more tall forest until you reach the Bridgetown Jarrah Park hiking area. This is a good chance to go walking amongst some of the tallest trees in the country. Shortly afterwards, the Brockman Highway weaves into Bridgetown.

The best things to do in Bridgetown include walking through the Blackwood River Park, admiring jigsaws from around the globe at the Brierly Jigsaw Gallery and tasting locally-made ciders at the Cidery and Blackwood Valley Brewing Company.
