The Brooklyn Ferry departs from Brooklyn Wharf, which is a short walk away from Hawkesbury River Station. It then heads to Little Wobby Wharf and Dangar Island, before returning to Brooklyn Wharf.

According to the Brooklyn Ferry timetable, the first ferry of the day departs at 06.40, and the last departs at 19.15. For most of the services, the loop around the stops takes around 50 minutes.

The departure times are somewhat erratic.

At weekends, the first Brooklyn Ferry departure is at 19.30, with the last guaranteed departure at 18.00. There are sometimes extra on-request services during Daylight Saving Time.

The Brooklyn Ferry is privately operated, and thus not part of the Transport for NSW Opal card system. A single ticket costs $10.30.
