The Scotland Island ferry in Sydney, New South Wales, connects Scotland Island to Church Point at the bottom of Pittwater. It also links the small island community to the edge of the Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park.
Scotland Island is a small island in Pittwater, northern Sydney. It is a residential island, with around 1,000 people living there. But it is shrouded in trees, and home to plenty of native wildlife and visitors can stay in holiday rental accommodation.

Scotland Island ferry stops
The main connection to the mainland is the Church Point Ferry, which departs from Church Point on Pittwater’s southern shore. This ferry stops at four wharves around Scotland Island – Bell Wharf, Carols Wharf, Eastern Wharf and Tennis Court Wharf. Of these, Tennis Court Wharf is probably of most interest to visitors, as it is at the northern end of the island. It’s a fab spot for a picnic looking north over Pittwater.
The ferry then heads over to Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park on the western side of Pittwater. Here it stops at Elvina Bay, Halls Wharf and Lovett Bay, before swinging back via Bell Wharf to Church Point.
Scotland Island ferry stops
The Scotland Island ferry timetable is slightly erratic, with extra services in the mornings and early evenings, and fewer services at weekends. It’s also worth noting that not every service stops at every wharf. But on weekdays, the first ferry from Church Point is at 06.25, and the last is at 19.20. For most of the day, there are departures roughly every hour.
