Single one way fares on the Bundeena ferry cost $7.60. Take a bike or a surfboard with you, and it’s an extra $3.80. There are 10 trip and weekly passes available, but they won’t be of much interest to most tourists.
The important thing to realise about the Bundeena ferry is that you can’t book in advance. It’s a first come, first served system, and you pay on board the ferry. These Port Hacking ferries depart from Cronulla Wharf, which is a very short walk from Cronulla Station.
Bundeena ferry timetable
The Bundeena ferry timetable varies somewhat depending on what day of the week it is. From Monday to Friday, there are departures every hour on the half hour from Cronulla Wharf. These start at 05.30 and the last Bundeena ferry departs at 18.30. The only exception is that there is no 12.30 ferry service.
The return ferries from Bundeena to Cronulla depart hourly on the hour, starting at 06.00 and finishing at 19.00. Again, there’s an exception – there’s no 13.00 service.
Weekend ferries from Cronulla
The Bundeena ferry timetable is a little different on weekends, starting at 08.30.
The last ferry from Cronulla is at 18.30, except in the winter months when it’s at 17.30. However, there is no lunchtime gap.
It’s a short walk from the Bundeena ferry terminal to Jibbon Beach.
