Caboolture train line: Timetables, fares & key stations

The Caboolture train line in South East Queensland connects Brisbane, Ipswich and Caboolture – but also runs to the Sunshine Coast. Fares are zone-based and, according to the Caboolture train line timetable, trains run roughly every half hour.

The Caboolture train line is not one that is instinctively appealing to tourists. But look a little closer and it might come in very handy.

Caboolture is a fairly unremarkable town to the north of Brisbane. It’s effectively part of Brisbane’s suburbia, and the Caboolture train line is largely used by commuters.

However, the important thing to realise is that the train line doesn’t stop at Caboolture. It continues to the more tourist-friendly Glasshouse Mountains and Sunshine Coast.

Granted, it doesn’t go to the main coastal holiday spots, such as Caloundra, Mooloolaba and Noosa. But the stations at Landsborough, Eudlo, Woombye and Nambour can be used to connect to the coast by bus.

In the other direction, the Caboolture train line is less exciting. It goes through underwhelming Ipswich and finishes at Rosewood Station.

For visitors, the key stations on the Caboolture train line in Brisbane are Brisbane Central, Roma Street Station and Fortitude Valley Station.
