F9 ferry from Circular Quay

The Watsons Bay Ferry – also known as the F9 service – departs from Wharf 2 at Circular Quay. On weekdays, it departs every 20 minutes for most of the day. That means it’s usually quicker to get to Rose Bay by ferry than by bus.

According to the Sydney Ferries timetables, the Circular Quay to Rose Bay ferry journey takes 13 minutes.

Full Circular Quay to Rose Bay ferry timetables are available on the Transport for NSW website. But on weekdays, the first ferry is at 06.05. They run every 20 minutes until the 18.45 departure, with frequency then dropping to every half hour. At 20.45, it becomes every hour, with the last Rose Bay ferry departing at 23.45.

At weekends, the Rose Bay ferry starts at 07.45, with the final departure at 21.45. They’re less frequent, however, with departures from Circular Quay every half hour for most of the day.
