The Seaford train from Adelaide to Seaford is timetabled to run roughly every 15 minutes, and takes around 46 minutes. City to Seaford fares cost from $2.20.

The Seaford train line is one of several suburban rail routes run by Adelaide Metro. As the name suggests, the Seaford train terminates at Seaford train station in the far south of the Adelaide urban area.

The Seaford train is primarily a commuter service, but it may be of interest to some visitors too. Particularly those who want to go to Seaford Beach or try wine-tasting.

Seaford is a beach suburb near the top of the Fleurieu Peninsula. It makes a decent access point for the McLaren Vale wineries – the McLaren Vale is just to the east of Seaford.

Adelaide to Seaford train timetable

The Seaford train timetable is a little inconsistent, but for much of the day, there are trains every 15 minutes. The first Seaford train of the day departs Adelaide train station at 05.30, and the last at midnight.

How long the journey takes depends on which train you board. Some skip a few stations on the way, the rest stop everywhere.

Seaford Line stops

Take the slower Seaford train, and you’ll stop at Mile End, Adelaide Showground, Goodwood, Clarence Park, then Emerson, Edwardstown and Woodlands Park.

The faster services, however, skip straight to Woodlands Park.

From there, both the fast service and slow service stop at every station along the rest of the line. These are Ascot Park, Marion, Oaklands, Warradale, Hove, Brighton and Seacliff, followed by Marino, Marino Rocks, Hallett Cove and Hallett Cove Beach. The last few stops on the Seaford line are Lonsdale, Christie Downs, Noarlunga Centre, Seaford Meadows and Seaford.

Take the fast train and the Adelaide to Seaford train journey lasts 46 minutes. The slow train isn’t really that much slower. The extra stops mean the train takes 50 minutes to reach Seaford.

Adelaide to Seaford train fares cost $5.90 one way at peak times using a single trip MetroTicket, or $3.95 with a rechargeable Metrocard. Off peak fares are $3.90 and $2.20 respectively.
