Berida Hotel: What makes this Bowral accommodation so appealing?

The Berida Hotel in Bowral, New South Wales, offers stylish Southern Highlands accommodation inside a genteel 1920s mansion.

The Berida Hotel in Bowral fits the Southern Highlands region of New South Wales marvellously. The region is a place of fine gardens, leisurely strolls, wineries and antique shops. And the Berida Hotel is a genteel, elegant place where you feel you ought to be sipping sherry or port.

Berida Hotel history

This Bowral hotel dates back to the 1920s, in its first incarnation as a private mansion. It has since been a health retreat and a motel, but is now a 46 room hotel with boutique leanings.

The Berida Hotel is just off Bowral’s main street, and comes with a heated indoor pool, spa and sauna and games room.

The bedrooms strike a balance between maintaining heritage grandeur and having stylishly contemporary furnishings. You never feel like you’re in a modern chain hotel, but it doesn’t slip into feeling like a fusty B&B either.

This Bowral accommodation is home to one of the best restaurants in the Southern Highlands, too. Bistro Sociale offers French-leaning modern European cuisine. There’s a deliberate hint of refinement, but it never gets too snooty. If you’re more interested in the drink offerings than the food menu, then head to the whisky lounge or gin bar.
