The Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm is just off the Bass Highway between Elizabeth Town and Deloraine. If indulgence is your thing, it is right opposite the Van Diemens Land Creamery.

Neither is realistically what you come to Tasmania for – they’re hardly a Wineglass Bay cruise, the Hastings Caves or a Cradle Mountain day trip from Launceston. But if going past, they’re a good stop.

You’ll pass by both on the drive from Devonport to Launceston, but if you really want to stay the night, accommodation is available in Deloraine. Try the motel-style Mountain View Country Inn or the considerably more grandiose Arcoona Manor.
