Ballina to Yamba road trip: Distance, drive time & best attractions
Ballina to Yamba drive: Bundjalung National Park
From Broadwater to the Clarence River, most of the land between the coast and the highway is taken up by Bundjalung National Park.
Here, you can go kayaking along the Esk or Evans River, tackle the 6km Jerusalem Creek Peninsula track from the Black Rocks campground or do the ten minute walk to the Iluka Bluff Lookout for a photo stop.
Once over the Clarence River, a turn towards the coast takes you into Yamba.
Yamba beaches worth investigating include Turners Beach, Yamba Main Beach, Pippi Beach and Green Point Beach. You can also try taking the Clarence River ferry to Iluka.
The Calypso Yamba caravan park is one of several good Yamba accommodation options. Others include the keenly-priced Aston Motel, the riverside Moby Dick and the gardens-surrounded Blue Dolphin Holiday Resort.
