The Batemans Bay to Narooma drive takes you between two of the most attractive towns on the New South Wales South Coast. Both are in the Eurobodalla Shire of New South Wales, so in Australian terms, they’re pretty close.

On the one hand, this allows you to get from Batemans Bay to Narooma pretty quickly. On the other, it creates room to make a day out of the journey, stopping at attractions on the way.

Batemans Bay to Narooma distance and driving time

The quickest Batemans Bay to Narooma drive is almost entirely along the Princes Highway. The route is 71.8km in distance, with a Batemans Bay to Narooma driving time of 57 minutes.

Starting from just south of the Batemans Bay Bridge over the Clyde River, the Princes Highway departs from the coast.

It then goes past the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden and through Mogo. Here, animal-lovers might want to stop off at the Mogo Wildlife Park. On the way to Moruya, the Princes Highway passes through Jeremadra and Bimbimbie. You need not concern yourself with either.

Moruya is the regional hub town, and the best place to stock up on supplies. Afterwards, the Princes Highway bends around the Tuross River estuary and Borang Lake. The Bodalla Dairy Shed just outside Bodalla is the most interesting stop before you reach Narooma. You can get good cheese and ice cream here.

Batemans Bay to Narooma road trip: Beach stops

Of course, bombing it along the Princes Highway rather defeats the point of exploring the South Coast. The smart move is to build in some beach time at one of several fabulous beach suburbs and towns along the way. Options include Tomakin, Mossy Point and Broulee, although the longest beach is Bengello Beach just behind Moruya Airport.
