There’s no real point at stopping anywhere on the way, particularly if you take the quickest route via the Warrego Highway. To put it bluntly, there’s really nothing to see.

This route goes via the tiny settlements of Macalister, Warra, Brigalow and Boonarga. There’s a reason why none of these places feature in tourist guides to Australia.

Dalby to Chinchilla drive via Dalby State Forest

You can, however, add an extra ten minutes or so to the journey, and go via the Dalby-Kogan Road. This quieter rural route passes by the Dalby State Forest.

In truth, though, you’re better off getting to Chinchilla as quickly as possible and spending a bit of time there.

The best things to do in Chinchilla, Queensland, include getting a dose of heritage at the Chinchilla Historical Museum. You can also go strolling in the Chinchilla Botanic Parkland or cycling in the Barakula State Forest.
