The drive out of Moree starts along the Gwydir Highway. There are a few Gwydir River parks around Pallamallawa, and the Tranawalla Stahmann Pecan Farm comes shortly afterwards.

You’ll leave the highway just after Gravesend, turning right down Elcombe Road. This largely follows the Gwydir River and is uneventful to say the least. The Bingara State Conservation Area is a relatively short detour away, but isn’t really set up for visiting walkers.
