Noosa to Australia Zoo: Distance, driving time & transfer buses

The distance from Noosa to Australia Zoo is 69km, and the drive takes around 53 minutes. However, there are a couple of transfer services worth considering.

Australia Zoo is one of the signature attractions on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. But it is not exactly on the doorstep of the region’s main resort towns, such as Noosa, Mooloolaba and Caloundra.

Australia Zoo is located between Landsborough and Beerwah, inland and at the very southern end of the Sunshine Coast region. Given that Noosa is at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast, this makes getting from Noosa to Australia Zoo a surprisingly long trek.

If I can do just one thing in Noosa, what should it be?

The Great Beach Drive – a four wheel drive adventure up Teewah Beach towards Double Island Point – is fantastic on its own. To go kayaking with dolphins as part of the same trip makes for a genuinely superb day out.

Take it as a massive personal recommendation – the Great Beach Drive plus Kayaking With Dolphins day tour should be at the top of your Noosa wishlist.

Australia Zoo transfers from Noosa

However, some visitors might not have their own car, and that’s where transfer services come in.

There are a couple of operators offering Noosa to Australia Zoo transfers. Croc Tours offers a tour package including a transfer from your Sunshine Coast hotel, plus entry to Australia Zoo, for $159. For children, it’s $109.

The other option is with Joel’s Journeys. This is a straight return transfer – you’ll need to organise your Australia Zoo tickets separately. This costs $399 per group. Obviously, that’s a lot if there’s just two of you, but starts looking reasonably if there’s five of you.

All prices were correct at time of writing, but are subject to change in future.
