Winton to Cloncurry road trip: Walkabout Creek Hotel in McKinlay

It’s still called the Walkabout Creek Hotel now, and milks the Crocodile Dundee link for all it’s worth. Alas, it’s not in the original location, and the façade has undergone substantial changes.

From McKinlay to Cloncurry, it’s a 108km drive. Things to do in Cloncurry include the John Flynn Place Museum, which tells the story of the founder of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Also worth a look is Cloncurry Unearthed, which delves into fossils found nearby.
