Wollongong to Merimbula road trip: Distance, drive time & stops
Wollongong to Merimbula road trip: Eurobodalla coast
On the way out of Batemans Bay, you’ll pass through the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden and through Mogo. Animal-lovers might want to stop off here at the Mogo Wildlife Park.
There are also several lovely beach towns worthy of a diversion on the way to regional hub town Moruya. Tomakin, Mossy Point and Broulee all line up near the mouth of the Tomaga River, with surfing and other water sports being the main priorities.
Wollongong to Merimbula road trip: Moruya to Narooma
After Moruya, the Princes Highway bends around the Tuross River estuary and Borang Lake on the way to Narooma.
The Bodalla Dairy Shed just outside Bodalla is worth a stop, however. There are free cheese and ice cream tastings here, although you’ll inevitably want to buy afterwards.
In Narooma, activities include whale-watching, snorkelling with seals and Montague Island tours. Montague Island Adventures offers all three.
You can also explore using an e-bike rental.
