Vivonne Bay beach

Vivonne Beach is a long, U-shaped beach that curves for six kilometres. It has previously been named as the best beach in Australia. Many would argue it is the best beach on Kangaroo Island, although Stokes Bay gives it a run for its money.

Picturesque elements of Vivonne Bay Beach include the white, almost squeaky sand and the jetty at the southern end. There are sloping sand dunes to the north and the waves tend to be relatively gentle.

Things to do in Vivonne Bay: Quad bikes and kayaking

There are several activity options in Vivonne Bay. These include quad bike tours that head through several different environments, looking out for Kangaroo Island wildlife along the way.

It’s also possible to go on a self-guided kayaking tour along the Harriet River. It’s a gentle river, ideal for leisurely paddling.

Little Sahara dunes, Vivonne Bay
