Adina Waterfront Darwin: Hotel Review

Adina Waterfront Darwin: Hotel Review

The Adina Waterfront Darwin hotel’s strength is its superb location next to the Darwin Wave Lagoon. Rates are relatively affordable, and there’s little wrong with the Aboriginal art-adorned rooms.

The Adina Waterfront Darwin hotel is a solid accommodation in the Northern Territory capital. “Solid” isn’t a particularly exciting word when it comes to booking hotels, but it’s an underrated one.

There’s very little to pick holes in at this Darwin hotel, as the basics are done right.

Adina Waterfront Darwin hotel review: Facilities, Aboriginal art and pool

The Adina Waterfront Darwin has plenty of plug sockets and USB slots by the bed. The beds are comfortable enough without being stunning, there’s a separate sink with a kettle outside the bathroom, while the WiFi is free and relatively fast.

If you were nitpicking, you could say the bathroom is a smidge dated and there’s nothing to give the standard rooms any character beyond single Aboriginal painting.

In the lobby, there is more Aboriginal art, sourced from a small community in western central Australia, while there’s also a decent-sized pool outside. It’s not as pitiful as some of the pools most Australian motels provide, but neither is it somewhere you’ll spend a long time doing lengths.

Adina Waterfront Darwin location

The Adina Waterfront Darwin’s real strength is its location. As the name suggests, the Adina Hotel in Darwin is right by the waterfront.

In fact, you can look out of the window and see the Wave Lagoon, Darwin water park, Darwin ferris wheel and Stokes Hill Wharf.

The Adina Waterfront Darwin is also surrounded by places to eat. There’s the Precinct on one side and Snapper Rocks on the other. The hotel is also within an easy walk of the Royal Flying Doctor Service Darwin Tourist Facility and Charles Darwin sunset dinner cruises departure point on Stokes Hill Wharf.

Adina Waterfront Darwin rates

Low season rates at Darwin’s Adina Hotel start at $183.20, while one bedroom apartments with  washing machine and drier cost from $223.20 per night. The cheapest rates come from booking online in advance.

One confusing aspect about this Darwin Hotel is that the Vibe hotel is on the same site. They’re effectively one hotel operating under two different names, with the same reception. Pick whichever is cheapest of the two on the day rather than fretting over microscopic differences.
