Skyline Darwin: Darwin ferris wheel prices & times

The Darwin ferris wheel – aka Skyline Darwin – operates during the dry season and costs $12. There’s also mini-golf as part of the complex.

Skyline Darwin is a big wheel that is seasonally erected at Stokes Hill Wharf in Darwin. It’s one of those things that started as a one-off for one season, but was so popular, it ended up staying.

The Darwin ferris wheel is 35 metres high and, at night, lights up in all manner of different colours. It’s somewhat flashy and garish and feels oddly out of place in an area that’s otherwise making a big deal of its heritage.

Skyline Darwin is not a bad way to see what passes for a skyline in the Northern Territory capital, and there’s a mini golf course next to it.

A ride on the Darwin ferris wheel costs $12 for everyone 13-years-old or above. It’s $10 for seniors and children. Alternatively, you can pay $45 for a gondola of up to six people.

If you decide to stay for nine holes of Australiana-themed mini golf, that’ll cost another $13.

Operation of Skyline Darwin is subject to weather conditions – don’t expect to go on during one of the Top End’s many thunderstorms.
