Anbinik Kakadu Resort review: Best value Jabiru accommodation?

Anbinik Kakadu Resort review: Best value Jabiru accommodation?

The Anbinik Kakadu Resort is a favourite with multi-day Kakadu tours from Darwin. The suites are the nicest accommodation here, but there are also powered sites, rooms, bungalows and cabins.

The Anbinik Kakadu Resort is one of a handful of accommodation options within the Northern Territory’s Kakadu National Park. In all honesty, none of these Kakadu accommodation options are especially brilliant. Across the board, they are overpriced for what they offer and a little scruffy round the edges. This partly reflects the remote location.

Anbinik Kakadu Resort on Kakadu tour

The Anbinik Kakadu Resort is the one that many operators use on multi day tours of Kakadu from Darwin. This is generally because it offers the best value accommodation in Jabiru, the closest thing to a town in the national park.

This Jabiru accommodation option is Aboriginal-owned and operated. It comes with a small pool and a fairly decent Thai restaurant that is big on portion size.

Accommodation at Anbinik Kakadu Resort

There are several different forms of accommodation available at the Anbinik Kakadu Resort. The most comfortable of these are the Anbinik Suites. These suites are supposedly Balinese-inspired, but that’s more a reference to the indoor-outdoor bathrooms than anything else. These quirky bathrooms involve an outdoor shower in an area at the back of the hut that is fenced off for privacy. Recycled materials are used to make that fencing – in Suite 14, for example, an old crocodile warning sign is part of the shield.

The suites are effectively standalone cabins. None has WiFi, but they all come with fridges and air-conditioning. Are they luxurious? No. Are they comfortable enough? Yes – although some will find the bed a bit low and soft.
