Staying at the Crescent Head caravan park

The Crescent Head caravan park is one of the cheapest places to stay in New South Wales surf town Crescent Head.

Crescent Head, on the Port Macquarie to Coffs Harbour stretch of the drive from Sydney to Byron Bay, is a notoriously good surf spot. Sandwiched between Goolawah National Park near Port Macquarie and Hat Head National Park,

Crescent Head has a long, curving beach with consistent surf. It curves to face north at the headland beyond the mouth of Killick Creek. And the surf’s so good that Crescent Head is officially a National Surfing Reserve.

Crescent Head caravan park location

The Crescent Head caravan park is on the headland, just behind the Kempsey-Crescent Head Surf Club and the skate park. Its official name is the Crescent Head Holiday Park, and it is run by Macleay Valley Coast Holiday Parks.

As Australian caravan parks go, the Crescent Head Holiday Park isn’t massively impressive on the facilities front. However, there is a playground, barbecue area, laundry, kiosk and boat ramp.
