The best things to do in Toukley, New South Wales, include swimming in Budgewoi Lake from Osbourne Park and kayaking on Tuggerah Lake from Canton Beach.

Toukley, New South Wales, is a suburb of the Central Coast. It’s on the shores of both Tuggerah Lake and Budgewoi Lake, to the north of The Entrance.

If you’ve never heard of Toukley, that’s probably because it doesn’t have its own ocean beach. Budgewoi Beach and Lakes Beach are only in other suburbs on a technicality, however. So for the purposes of staying on the Central Coast, it’s fair to assume Toukley does have a beach.

Things to do in Toukley, NSW: Budgewoi Lake

The main things to do in Toukley, however, are on the shore of Budgewoi Lake. Osbourne Park has a boat ramp – which will be more of interest to fishing enthusiasts than anyone else.

There’s also some Central Coast accommodation on the shore of Budgewoi Lake, too. The Beachcomber Hotel and Resort is one of the larger hotels in the area.

Canton Beach on the eastern shore of Tuggerah Lake is arguably the most enjoyable hive of action in Toukley, however. You’ll find the Waterfront Tourist Park and Canton Beach Community Playground here.

But perhaps more important is the Canton Beach Paddle Shack. This watersports gear hire joint offers the opportunity to head a little further out on the lake than the kids paddling in the shallows.

The Canton Beach Paddle Shack hires out stand-up paddleboards and kayaks, with prices starting at $15 per hour for kids’ kayaks. The paddleboards and single kayaks cost $20 per hour, and the double kayaks cost $35 per hour.
