Port Elliot caravan park, South Australia: Camping and cabin rates

The Port Elliot caravan park on Encounter Bay in South Australia is cheap, and has good facilities for children. Powered sites cost from $32 a night.

The Fleurieu Peninsula and Encounter Bay in South Australia are popular holiday regions. They’re a short drive from Adelaide, and have fabulous beaches. It’s no surprise that caravan parks have set up to cater to the demand.

There are two Normanville caravan parks to choose from in Normanville, on the Peninsula’s east coast. And the Goolwa caravan park offers a cheap option in Goolwa, the gateway to the Coorong.

But another spot worth considering is Port Elliot, on the Cockle Train route from Goolwa to Victor Harbor. Port Elliot is a quieter beach town, although some people will take considerable detours to tuck into pies and doughnuts from the Port Elliot Bakery.

Port Elliot accommodation

The Port Elliot caravan park provides cheap accommodation here. Sited just behind Ladies Beach and Commodore Point at the eastern end of Port Elliot, the Port Elliot caravan park offers powered sites, cabins, villas and cottages.

The official name of the park is the BIG4 Breeze Holiday Parks – Port Elliot. But let’s not indulge that hideous mangle of marketingese.

Facilities at this Port Elliot holiday park include a children’s adventure playground, basketball, a beach volleyball court, a lawned games area and a jumping pillow. There are also barbecue and laundry facilities.

Port Elliot caravan park prices

The cheapest accommodation at the Port Elliot caravan park is the powered sites, which cost from $32 a night. If you want a beachside location, that goes up to $37 a night. These sites are primarily aimed at campers, campervanners and caravanners.

A range of more conventional accommodation is available, too. Options go from budget cabins costing from $99 to a three bedroom cottage costing from $157 per night.
