There are 34 gondolas in total on the Arthurs Seat cable car, each holding a maximum of eight people. The journey from base station to upper station on the Arthurs Seat Eagle takes about 15 minutes.

The upper station is 305 metres above sea level, and from there it’s a short walk to the Arthurs Seat Lookout. From here, you get splendid views over Port Phillip Bay towards the Melbourne city skyline, the You Yangs near Geelong and Mt Macedon.

Arthurs Seat Eagle accessibility
The Arthurs Seat Eagle is accessible for both wheelchairs and prams, while the combination of open and enclosed cabins makes the cable car viable in all weathers. That said, it sometimes has to close in high winds or stormy weather.
It’s not necessary to take the Arthurs Seat Eagle to visit the state park. Both base and summit station are on the Arthurs Seat Road, and you can easily drive up. However, going by cable car is obviously more fun.
