Where is Rennies Beach, Ulladulla?

Rennie Beach is a beach in Ulladulla, New South Wales. You’ll find Rennies Beach at the southern end of town, at the end of Rennies Beach Close.

There is car parking at the northern end of Rennies Beach. From the car park, a track runs down the fairly steep bluff towards the 530 metre-long, south east-facing beach.

Is it safe to swim at Rennies Beach?

Rennies Beach is not one of the beaches within the Shoalhaven City Council area patrolled by lifeguards. That’s not to say you can’t swim at Rennies Beach, but you do so at your own risk.

Be aware that the rips at Rennies Beach are strong, and the rock platforms are potentially hazardous.

Rennies Beach is far better for surfing than it is for swimming, and it often has both good beach breaks and reef breaks.

It’s an attractive beach, though, even if you’re not planning to get in the water. The breaking waves give a wild, moody feel, and the high dunes make Rennies Beach seem a long way from urban life.

The other reason to visit Rennies Beach is the caves at the southern end of the beach. These aren’t exactly huge, but you can at least poke your nose in.
