Koko Black stockists: Where to buy these Australian chocolates?

Koko Black stockists: Where to buy these Australian chocolates?

You can buy Koko Black’s high quality Australian chocolates online. But there are also stores and stockists in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Canberra and Adelaide.

Koko Black is one of several Australian chocolate makers that is seeking to overturn perceptions of chocolate in Australia. For those who’ve not had the dubious pleasure of trying it, most mainstream Australian chocolate is pretty dire.

Koko Black in the Royal Arcade

Koko Black started with a trip to Belgium to learn about Belgian chocolate-making. The result was a shop in Melbourne’s Royal Arcade, selling Belgian couverture chocolates made with 100% cocoa butter.

These days, the chocolates are made in a factory in Coburg. But they’re still hand-made, and there’s still a dedication to high quality. The standard milk chocolate, for example, is made with 34% cocoa solids

Perhaps the most notable thing about Koko Black, however, is that its 260-strong range makes use of several native Australian ingredients. These include whipstick wattle, lemon myrtle, Australian nuts, Davidson plum and Tasmanian leatherwood honey.

Where to buy Koko Black chocolates

If you want to buy Koko Black chocolates, then the obvious place is via the company website. However, there are several Koko Black stores around the country.

The original Royal Arcade outlet is bolstered by several other options in Melbourne. These include the Chadstone Shopping Centre, the Como Centre in South Yarra, Melbourne Town Hall and the Queen Victoria Market.

Koko Black stores in Adelaide, Canberra and Sydney

In Adelaide, you’ll find one in the Adelaide Arcade, while the Canberra store is inside the David Jones department store. There’s another inside the Sydney CBD David Jones, but the Queen Victoria Building provides another Sydney option.

In Western Australia, the Koko Black stores are in Claremont and Karrinyup.

Other places to try good quality Australian chocolates include Haigh’s Chocolates in Adelaide and the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company in Tanunda. In Victoria, options include the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery, the Phillip Island Chocolate Factory and the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie.
