The first half of the Brisbane to Dalby drive, from Brisbane to Toowoomba, offers more things to do. The drive then passes several golf courses. It joins the Ipswich Motorway then skirts over the top of Ipswich before joining the Warrego Highway. Short diversions from here will bring you to the Kholo Botanic Gardens, Lake Wivenhoe, the Lockyer State Forest or historic town Laidley.
The main reason to come off the Warrego Highway, however, is to visit Toowoomba – one of Australia’s largest inland cities.
