Sydney to Tweed Heads road trip: Nambucca Heads to Coffs Harbour

From Nambucca Heads to Coffs Harbour, there are decent photo stops at the Oyster Creek Lookout just north of Valla Beach and the Perry’s Hill Lookout by of the Bellinger River.

The highway then goes through Bongil Bongil National Park. If you want to see koalas, check out the walking tracks around the Bongil Picnic Area and Sid Burke Picnic Area.

Coming into Coffs Harbour, you’ve got Sawtell Beach and Boambee Beach on the coast, and the Coffs Harbour Butterfly House next to the highway.

Things to do in Coffs Harbour include rainforest tourswhale-watching cruises and skydives.

Coffs Coast beaches

Leaving Coffs Harbour, you’ll pass near the North Coast Regional Botanic Garden and the city’s somewhat tackier attractions – the Clog Barn and the Big Banana.

Other options on the way north include Diggers Beach and the Solitary Islands Aquarium at Charlesworth Bay Beach, or the Forest Sky Pier and Treetops Adventure in Korora.

The northern section of the Coffs Coast brings several excellent beaches, including Sapphire Beach, Moonee Beach and Emerald Beach compete for attention.

For wildlife-lovers, Moonee Beach Nature Reserve and the Look At Me Now Headland host large numbers of kangaroos.

After surf villages Woolgoolga and Arrawarra, the Pacific Highway turns inland just before Corindi Beach.
