Woolgoolga is a small town in its own right at the northern end of the Coffs Coast, New South Wales. It’s not really big enough to have its own centre of gravity, but it’s not quite a suburb of Coffs Harbour, either.

You could, however, choose to stay in Woolgoolga and drive into Coffs Harbour.

By car, the distance from Woolgoolga to Coffs Harbour is about 25km. That makes for a driving time of around 21 minutes. The route passes through several Coffs Coast beach suburbs.

These start with Sandy Beach and Emerald Beach. Here, you can stay at the Emerald Beach caravan park and see whales and dolphins from the Look At Me Now Headland. This is also an excellent place to see kangaroos.

There’s plenty more wildlife in the Moonee Beach Nature Reserve, while Sapphire Beach is a strong contender for being the best beach in the region.

The Pacific Highway then enters Korora, home to the Forest Sky Pier, Treetops Adventure and Opal Cove Resort.

On the way into Coffs Harbour, you’ll go near the Solitary Islands Aquarium at Charlesworth Bay Beach and Diggers Beach. The highway also passes the Big Banana Fun Park, Clog Barn and North Coast Regional Botanic Garden.
