It offers a wide range of accommodation styles, including unpowered and powered sites, bunkhouses and cabins of varying degrees of luxury. The bunkhouses are very much aimed at school groups.

Unpowered sites at the Port Vincent Caravan Park cost from $20 a night. Powered sites cost from $30 – or $32 if you want a beachfront site. The cabins, with bedding supplied, cost from $65 per night. Port Vincent Foreshore Caravan Park rates

The alternative cheap Port Vincent accommodation is at the Port Vincent Foreshore Caravan Park. This is at Surveyor Point, next to the Port Vincent Sailing Club, main beach and children’s playground. The location is undoubtedly better, here.

The Port Vincent Foreshore Caravan Park is run by Yorke Peninsula Council Holiday Parks. Facilities include a coin-operated laundry and free-to-use barbecues.

Powered sites at the Port Vincent Foreshore Caravan Park cost from $35 per night and en-suite cabins cost from $120 a night. There is a middle ground, however, with the OzPods. These are essentially mini-cabins, roughly the size of shipping containers. They fit a double and a single bed in them, and not much more. Prices for the OzPods start at $60 a night. Again, full rates are available on the park website.

Essentially, the Port Vincent Foreshore Caravan Park is better located but more expensive than the Port Vincent Caravan Park. Which suits your needs better is up to you.

Adelaide to Port Vincent drive

Port Vincent is on the Spencer Gulf, about half way down the east coast of the Yorke Peninsula. The Adelaide to Port Vincent drive is about 196km in distance, meaning a driving time of about two hours and 18 minutes. The quickest route goes up the A1 to Port Wakefield, then down the Yorke Highway through Clinton and Ardrossan.
