Seal Rocks camping: Reflections Holiday Park or Treachery Campground?

Seal Rocks camping: Reflections Holiday Park or Treachery Campground?

There are two main Seal Rocks camping options – Reflections Holiday Park and Treachery Camp. The Reflections Holiday Park has better facilities and location, but Treachery Campground is a cheaper Seal Rocks accommodation option.

To call Seal Rocks a surf town is stretching it somewhat – surf hamlet feels more appropriate. But it’s one of the most gorgeous spots on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales between Newcastle and Forster. It’s a good place to stop on the Sydney to Forster leg of the Sydney to Coffs Harbour drive.

A Seal Rocks camping adventure is the best way to experience this surfer haven, surrounded by the Myall Lakes National Park and Pacific Ocean. And there are two main Seal Rocks camping options – the Reflections Holiday Park and Treachery Camp. These are sometimes known as the Seal Rocks caravan park and Treachery campground.

Seal Rocks camping: Reflections Holiday Park

Of these, the Reflections Holiday Park has the best location just behind Number One Beach. The Seal Rocks caravan park is also closer to what passes as a town centre.

Reflections Seal Rocks has reasonably good facilities. The usual camp kitchen and laundry are bolstered by children’s play facilities and school holiday activities. This NSW caravan park also offers a glamping option, with TVs, beds and full kitchens inside a tent, along with the powered sites and cabins.

Powered sites at the Reflections Holiday Park in Seal Rocks cost from $45 per night, with cabins starting at $122 per night. The premium beach tent glamping option costs from $198 per night. Book via the Reflections Holiday Park website.

Seal Rocks camping: Treachery Camp

Treachery Camp, a short walk from Lighthouse Beach is a more basic Seal Rocks accommodation option. But the Treachery campground is also considerably cheaper. Low season camping rates cost from $19 per person per night. That goes up to $23 per person per night in peak season. However, the camping is free form – there are no allocated sites and no power. This is camping in the old-fashioned sense of the word.

There are also cabins available at Treachery Camp, and these cost from $85 per night. See the Treachery Camp website for full rates and further details.
