Tea plantations in Australia

It may come as a surprise to some that tea is grown in Australia, but there are a few plantations around the country. There are others, for example, in the Atherton Tableland and northern New South Wales.

The Daintree tea plantation, though, was set up in 1978, and is still owned and operated by the original founding family.

The Nicholas family has made a series of bold decisions in growing their tea. The plantation is pesticide-free, and the tea is 100% Australian-owned, grown and processed. It is black tea, and unblended. The aim is to create a pure, high quality tea.
