Huskisson pub: Why visit the Huskisson Hotel?

The Huskisson pub has a great outdoor deck overlooking Jervis Bay, live music and a seafood-leaning food menu.

The Huskisson pub is by no means the fanciest place to eat and drink in Huskisson, NSW. But it is the spot with the most atmosphere.

The Huskisson pub is officially known as the Huskisson Hotel and locally known as the Husky Pub. It has a huge outdoor area overlooking Jervis Bay, and is best used for al fresco summer dining and drinking.

Live music at the Huskisson pub

Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are liveliest at the Huskisson pub, with either live music or DJs playing on the outdoor deck. The Husky pub also hosts trivia nights on Thursdays, with special offers on different dishes every day of the week. One night, the deals are on schnitzels, another on burgers and so on.

There are two places to eat – the Bistro and the Pavilion Bar and Kitchen. The Pavilion Bar and Kitchen has the more limited menu. Here you can try Greenwell Point oysters, Szechuan calamari and grilled prawn tacos on the sharing plates section of the menu.

Mains include Thai smoked chicken salad or an eye fillet steak. But the real indulgence is the Pavilion Seafood Stand for two. This costs $140 and comes with half an Australian rock lobster, blue swimmer crab, oysters, tiger prawns and grilled market fish. There’s also BBQ king prawns, beer-battered fish, smoked salmon, fries, season fruits and green pickled salad.

Huskisson Hotel bistro and accommodation

The bistro menu is more expansive, with lots of seafood options including coconut miso mussels. There are plenty of pub classics, such as chicken schnitzels, parmas and Aussie burgers with beetroot.

Accommodation is also available at the Huskisson Hotel – there are eight guest rooms on the premises. Book these online.

Huskisson is where you take the Husky Ferry over to Myola. It is just north of Vincentia, on the other side of Moona Moona Creek.
