Vincentia, New South Wales: Things to do, beaches and attractions

You go to Vincentia, New South Wales, for the beaches. But this Jervis Bay town also has decent accommodation, restaurants and facilities.

Vincentia, New South Wales, is a small town on Jervis Bay. It lies south of Moona Moona Creek, which separates it from Huskisson, the area’s main activity hub.

Mainly residential in nature, Vincentia is largely a slightly odd maze of quiet streets and attractive housing. However, there are a few holiday apartments and guesthouses sprinkled into the mix.

Facilities in Vincentia, New South Wales

Vincentia, New South Wales, also has a decent handful of facilities. The Bay & Basin Leisure Centre is here, and there are both Coles and Woolworths supermarkets. This is a viable hub for a stay in Jervis Bay, and one where accommodation prices can be cheaper than in busier Huskisson or more famous Hyams Beach.

It’s a solid base for exploring the southern end of Jervis Bay, including Iluka Beach, Murrays Beach and Cave Beach in the Jervis Bay Territory. However, it is not particularly convenient for the likes of Myola, Callala Beach, Point Perpendicular and the Beecroft Peninsula at the northern end of Jervis Bay.

Vincentia restaurants and cafés

There are a few cafés and restaurants in Vincentia, New South Wales. Try Nana on the Bay for Thai, 3 Gringos for Mexican and the Bayview Bakery Café for lighter bites. All are in the Vincentia Shopping Village at the northern end of the town.

There’s also the Bamboo River Chinese restaurant further south on Murray Street. This is inside the Country Club.

Things to do in Vincentia, New South Wales: Beaches

However, nobody really comes to Vincentia for the dining scene. This town is all about the white sand beaches. There are several to choose from. In the north, the mouth of Moona Moona Creek offers safe swimming as the creek winds through sandbars. Just south Sailors Grave Beach and Collingwood Beach run into each other to create the longest beach in Vincentia.

Orion Beach and Barfleur Beach

As the bay curves round towards Plantation Point, the small Orion Beach and Barfleur Beach generally get smaller waves. They’re usually good for swimming.

Then, south of Plantation Point come the real stunners. Nelsons Beach is longest, but snorkeller-friendly Blenheim Beach and Greenfield Beach have that wild, just stepped out of the bush feel. All three are connected by the White Sands Walk, which continues through the Jervis Bay National Park to Hyams Beach.
