Silverband Falls in the Grampians National Park, Victoria, is one of Australia’s prettiest waterfalls. The horsetail-style waterfall sees Dairy Creek tumble around 25 metres through the ferny forest.

Perhaps the most remarkable thing about this Grampians waterfall, however, is that the water just disappears when it reaches the bottom. It doesn’t vanish into thin air, of course – it goes beneath a rock ledge, with the creek re-emerging a little further downstream.

How to get to Silverband Falls

Getting to Silverband Falls is fairly easy if you can get to the car park. The Silverband Falls car park is 8.1km out of Halls Gap. You need to drive south along Grampians Road, then turn right onto Silverband Road as you reach the Bellfield Picnic Area on Lake Bellfield.

From the Silverband Falls car park, it is a 700 metre walk through ferny, shaded forest to reach the base of the falls. It’s an easy walk, but not one that’s suitable for prams and wheelchairs.
