Bambu’s vision is to bring the flavours and atmosphere of South-East Asia’s hawker stalls, but combine it with modern Australian cuisine. Every dish is designed to be shared, and dining is supposed to be fun.

Dishes on the Bambu Asia Eating House menu include wonton tacos with pulled duck, sweet hoisin sauce and mandarin salsa. You can also try a spicy barramundi curry, a Penang pumpkin curry and barbecue salmon fillets wrapped in banana leaves.

Elsewhere on the menu are gao bao, pork gyoza, kingfish sashimi and caramelised pork hock.

There’s a good cocktail menu at Bambu, too. Hawker stalls in Asia might be places for quick eats, but Bambu Asian Eating House invites you to linger and have a few drinks.

Bambu Asia Eating House opening hours

The Bambu Asian Eating House is open daily, but the opening hours are somewhat erratic. On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, it is open from 4pm to 9pm. On Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, this Melbourne restaurant is open from 12 noon to 9pm.

Bambu is part of the Darling Group, which also runs Top Paddock, Higher Ground, Darling Cafe, The Kettle Black and Dundas & Faussett.
