Some Barossa Valley wineries make a virtue of modernity, but Rockford Wines very much concentrates on tradition. On first glance, this commitment to heritage is about looks – the winery buildings are gorgeous stone affairs. They look like they belong in an English period drama about posh farmers.

But the heritage also shines through in the wines. Rockford Wines carefully tends vineyards that have been around for donkeys’ years, and uses them to make quality wines.
