Kojonup to Perth distance and driving time

By car along sealed roads, the distance from Kojonup to Perth is 264km. That makes for a driving time of around three hours.

Kojonup is arguably the best stop on the Albany to Perth drive. Here, Kodja Place covers regional culture and history far better than most local history museums. Deliberate attempts are made to incorporate several perspectives, including those of the Indigenous Noongar people.

Kodja Place also has a rose garden.

You can also stop at the Farrar Nature Reserve, which is carpeted by wildflowers in spring. The Myrtle Benn Flora and Fauna Sanctuary is similar, but smaller and closer to the Albany Highway.

Road trip essentials that many travellers forget

Search on the web, and you’ll find ludicrously long lists of equipment to take on a road trip. Australia Travel Questions isn’t going to do that to you. But it is worth buying the following road trip items before setting off. Click through for a good range of options.

Kojonup to Perth road trip: Kojonup to Williams

A little further north, Woodanilling Pool is an in-the-know camping spot, but a good place to spot ducks and kangaroos for non-campers. But otherwise the stretch from Kojonup to Williams is pretty dull.

Williams has a swimming pool and a couple of cafés. There’s also a half-decent lookout and picnic area in the Williams Nature Reserve.

Further north, between the Youraling State Forest and Dwellingup State Forest, the drive meets the Bibbulmun Track – Western Australia’s premier long-distance walking route. You can tackle the section around the Gringer Creek Campground if you wish to stretch the legs.

Kojonup to Perth drive: A detour to Jarrahdale?

The Albany Highway continues through plenty of forest, and runs just west of Jarrahdale. Here, you can tackle the Kitty’s Gorge Walk Trail to Serpentine Falls in Serpentine National Park or visit the Millbrook Winery.

The quickest route into Perth, however, continues along the Albany Highway, past Wungong Dam and Bungendore Park. Armadale – home of the Armadale Pools – marks the start of the slog through suburbia into the city centre.
