Bay Vista | Where is this Sydney dessert restaurant?

Sydney dessert restaurant Bay Vista has two outlets – in Brighton-le-Sands and Parramatta.

Bay Vista is a dessert bar and café with two Sydney locations. The original is in Brighton-le-Sands, and the newcomer is in Parramatta.

Unlike a conventional restaurant where desserts are a third act, Bay Vista focuses on the sweet treats. For pudding-lovers, this is probably as close to heaven on earth as you’ll get.

Bay Vista in Brighton-le-Sands

The original Bay Vista in Brighton-le-Sands opened in January 1991. It was the vision of local restaurateur Bill Mougios, who already owned two local seafood restaurants. He wanted an informal place with late night trading, and the full dessert menu open until closing.

The second Bay Vista in Parramatta opened in 2017, and uses the same menu.

Some classics have been on the menu since 1991. These include the tropical pavlova with passion fruit sauce, fresh banana, fresh sliced strawberries, kiwi fruit and blueberries, as well as the chocolate nut brownie.

But the range of options has expanded over time. The cake choices are extensive – there’s a cookies and cream layer cake, a sticky date pudding and chocolate indulgence cake. If you prefer cheesecakes, Bay visit offers an Italian ricotto cheesecake and another made with cream cheese and passion fruit. You can also try a chocolate pecan pie and banoffee pie.

Bay Vista also serves up 18 flavours of ice cream. These include peanut butter, caramel fudge and  macadamia flavours. And if ice cream doesn’t tickle your fancy, there are always pancakes, sweet crêpes, waffles. For more information, visit the company website.

Bay Vista is at 83 The Grand Parade in Brighton-le-Sands and the Altitude Building at 330 Church Street, Parramatta.
