Melbourne to Traralgon drive: Distance and time
If you decide to drive from Melbourne to Traralgon instead, it doesn’t take quite as long. The Melbourne to Traralgon drive is 164km in distance, making for a driving time of about two hours and one minute.
Once out of Melbourne’s suburbia, the route is almost entirely along the Princes Highway (sometimes simply called the M1). The M1 follows much the same route as the train line, passing Traralgon on the way to Sale and Bairnsdale.
