Binningup, WA, is a small coastal settlement between Mandurah and Bunbury to the south of Perth. It’s the sort of place that locals like to keep as a secret, but it’s just an hour and a half away from Perth, between Myalup and Australind.

The unquestioned star attraction in Binningup, WA, is Binningup Beach. This beach stretches for 40km, taking on different names depending on which town you happen to be in at the time. Binningup Beach offers white sand and the turquoises and teals of the Indian Ocean.

Surfing at Binningup Beach, WA?

You don’t come to Binningup Beach for surfing. Reefs shelter most of the beach, which protect the shoreline from sizable swells. This does, however, mean that Binningup Beach is excellent for swimming.

The snorkelling and diving is pretty good too, as there’s plenty of life around those reefs. Anyone bringing their fishing gear with them is reasonably likely to have a productive time beach fishing. Flathead, yellowfin whiting and herring are often caught at Binningup Beach.

Other things to do in Binningup, WA, include Pirate Ship Playground, which is outside the Binningup Surf Life Saving Club. There are picnic tables here if you want to have lunch while the kids tire themselves out.
