Bermagui is one of the most attractive towns on the South Coast of New South Wales. It’s at the northern end of the Sapphire Coast, and is a popular holiday spot with Sydneysiders driving down for a long weekend.

Bermagui is in possession of a beautiful natural harbour, and the continental shelf is only 20km offshore. That is pretty much the perfect recipe for deep sea fishing charters, something that Bermagui specialises in. Head Hunter Charters is one of several options on the fishing front.

Bermagui beaches

There are also several Bermagui attractions along the coast. Cuttagee Beach to the south of the town has a lake behind it – ideal for kids to paddle in. Horseshoe Bay Beach, meanwhile, is close to the town centre, and is known for its safe surf conditions. It’s a good spot for beginners to try catching a wave and families to swim.

A little further round the coast, the Bermagui Blue Pool is one of the most spectacular ocean pools in New South Wales.

Head north and Horseshoe Bay sweeps around the coast, with Four Mile Beach leading to the bizarre rock formations of Camel Rock and Horse Head Rock. No prizes for guessing why they have these names.
